Introduction BRAIN CANCER is the leading cause of cancer mortality in patients younger than age 35 in the United States (Smith et al., 1998). Gliomas account for 70% of all brain tumors (Wen and Kesari, 2008). Gliomas are an enigmatic and heterogeneous disease whose exact etiology is still unclear (Ohgaki and Kleihues, 2005). Some factors are found to affect glioma risk, such as hereditary genetic disorders (Reuss and von Deimling, 2009), obesity during adolescence (Moore et al., 2009), being tall, and exposure to high doses of ionizing radiation (Kostron et al., 1986; Ron et al., 1988; Hocking, 2008; Moore et al., 2009).
